Intro
Hello from The Glory Society! We’re a worker owned and operated cooperative that makes video games. We’re in search of a person to join our team as a full-time producer and eventual member of the co-op. Our current project in development is Revenant Hill, a narrative driven adventure game set in early 20th century America where you play as a cat trying to make ends meet. Check out the trailer here!
Overview
As a producer coming into a small creative team mid production, you'd be taking charge of and continuing to develop a production plan in collaboration with the team. You will become the sole producer of the team, with regular support from other disciplines and co-op members. While we have our roles and lanes at The Glory Society, we are an egalitarian workplace that involves all members in major decisions that impact the studio and project at large. The main task of the producer is to organize and facilitate the game development process while upholding the team’s goals of workplace transparency and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Oversee game development in collaboration with the Creative Director and team
- Organize and help with running meetings throughout the week
- Help maintain a healthy and accessible workplace by checking in with individual team members to ensure needs are addressed
- Ensure cross departmental communication to surface and resolve blockers
- Track and communicate both medium and long term development plans and budget, as well as sprint planning and day to day tasking
- Gather and use feedback to refine the existing production processes
- Be the regular point of contact with our partners (Publisher, Funders, Contractors, etc.)
Qualifications
- 3+ years in game production experience
- 1+ shipped commercial game projects as a producer
- Understand the fundamentals of scoping, scheduling, staffing, budget, and project management
- Able to identify bottlenecks and dependencies in the project workflow/schedule
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to self motivate and self pace
- Experience with production tools such as Jira, including making new workflows, project administration, and dashboard creation.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Notion and Miro.
- Familiar working in Agile or Scrum frameworks
Plus If
- Experience working as a solo producer on a shipped commercial game project
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams and managing between the needs of tech, art, and narrative production
- Deep prior involvement with launch cycles on various platforms and in various countries
- Development experience as a discipline specific contributor (artist, designer, programmer, or QA tester)
- Experience as a producer on a fully remote team
- Experience playtesting and giving feedback to in-development work
- Certified in Agile or Scrum
